YWCA METROPOLITAN CHICAGO is seeking an EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER (Contractual) to maintain a quality learning environment where all children can thrive in our Child Care Resource and Referral program. This position reports directly to the Provider Engagement Coordinator.
This role will make a significant contribution to the development of children while fostering positive relationships with their parents. This position will uphold YWCA Metropolitan Chicago’s unique approach to childcare with its focus on four distinct stakeholders: children, their families, educators, and the community. This position will service the children and families of the West Chicago area.
Implement YWCA approved curriculum and activities
Build and fosters relationships with West Chicago teachers and staff
Oversee aspects of daily operations including enrollment, curriculum, equipment & supplies, facilities maintenance, record keeping, etc.
Foster and maintain positive, proactive relations with parents that strengthen their confidence in their role as the child’s first teacher
Ability to work varied hours which may include days, nights, and/or weekends as needed
Minimum of 60 hours of college with at least 6 hours in early childhood education, elementary education and/ or child development
Minimum of one year of experience of working with children and families
Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities required
Possesses valid CPR and First Aid certifications
Ability to pass a health examination and a criminal background check
Demonstrated strategic planning expertise
