As the Lead, you will be asked to guide your assistants in best practices with this age group, model those practices, and lead all parent communications. You need to be able and willing to change diapers. The class size is 10 children working with 2 teachers. Our Montessori Toddler classroom utilizes IB Units of Inquiry to shape the works.
Teachers working with toddlers are often also working with parents who are new to parenting. Therefore, you must be someone with exceptional communication skills and a nurturing, supportive approach. Our goal is to guide and support parents through the journey of the 2s, helping them learn what their children are capable of and how they can best provide support to them along the way.
One of the ways we achieve this is through electronic portfolios using an iPad. We ask every teacher to embrace this technology and this assessment method, and we provide extensive support and training for doing so.
We love our little ones! The Toddler Lead position requires at least 3 years of experience working with children age 24-36 months of age. You must have completed a Bachelors degree, preferably in a related field. Masters degree is highly desired and Montessori training or experience a plus.
We are a Spanish and Mandarin immersion school, and so Spanish and Mandarin fluency are highly desired.
