(Full-Time Non-Exempt Position: 40 hours per week; 10:00am-6:00pm)
Capitol Hill Day School is a progressive, coeducational day school in Washington DC, for approximately 225 students in grades PreK- 8. Through its Day and Auxiliary Programs (After School and Summer Camp), the School stives to nurture children’s academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative growth. Position Purpose: The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs collaborates with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to support and manage the After School and Summer Camp programs which are an integral part of the School. The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs balances the roles of administrator and educator. The individual has strong clerical skills and a solid understanding of the developmental stages of children and a commitment to Capitol Hill Day School’s mission and philosophy of teaching and learning.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs include, but are not limited to:
Manage the administrative components of both After School and Summer Camp programs including registration, emergency and health information, payment processing, etc. Experience with a camp management software a plus.
Assist with the development of Summer Camp programming and After School Program Field Trip planning and scheduling
Maintain Summer Camp health forms records in cooperation and compliance with the Nurse Delegate
Prepare/coordinate mailings and materials for After School and Summer Camp programs
Help address parent concerns and inquiries related to After School and Summer Camp programs
Conduct follow-up with Summer Camp clients regarding billing as necessary
Help prepare After School Program and Summer Camp employee orientation materials
Assist with training/orientation of Summer Camp and After School Program staff
Spend time in After School Program classrooms and Summer Camp sessions providing support and guidance to instructors, and substitute coverage as necessary
