We seek a full time research scientist to assist with an ongoing project on infant learning during everyday play at home with caregivers. Individuals with interest and experience in research on child development are encouraged to apply.
The Junior Research Scientist will assist with all aspects of a research project on infant and caregiver in the home environment, including The position entails recruitment of families into the study, scheduling of home visits, assistance with data collection (in homes of families), administrative tasks, use of Databrary for video uploading with metadata, coding using the software tool Datavyu, transcription and coding of language, coding of behaviors in infants and caregivers (e.g., locomotor and object exploration), overseeing and training students (volunteer and hourly) on coding and conducting of visits, conducting of inter-rater reliabilities, data entry and analyses, creation of graphics, assistance with research dissemination (including assistance in preparation of presentations and publications).
Employment will commence on February 1, 2018.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
Experience/courses on child development.
Minimum of 1-year or research experience working in a laboratory that actively engages in research on infants and caregivers.
Experience with video recording for research.
Knowledge of Databrary
Knowledge of Datavyu: behavioral video coding and time-locked transcribing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate using technology, develop reports, and track data.
