The Family Resource Specialist is responsible for the delivery of specific programs and customized services to meet the client's Family Empowerment Plan. This position emphasizes a proactive approach in creating a sense of family well being and empowerment. This is accomplished by connecting families with coordinated community resources to develop family self sufficiency. This person will work in a professional, collaborative manner with co-workers and other parties utilizing a team approach to provide quality services to improve life outcomes for all clients. The Family Resource specialist satisfies our public funding partners, the general public, and our business clients through the delivery of quality goods and services. Keeping up with current labor market trends, community resources, local business leaders, and potential employment opportunities are essential to this position. Develops and maintains rapport with partners within their offices, community resources, employees, and other agencies to assist client and family in meeting Family Empowerment Plan goals.
Utilizes a Two-Generational Approach based on four core components: education, economic supports, health & well being, and social capital to achieve client economic stability.
Demonstrates competencies of strengthening families by: promoting parent resilience, helping families build strong social connections, helping families' access concrete support in times of need, providing education for parenting skills & child development, and helping parents promote the social & emotional competence of children. Documents all activities and information in State's System of Record. Maintains written documentation related to attendance, absences, enrollment, and other information for client case file. Identifies and utilizes community resources. Approves supportive services and needs based payments for clients. Assists clients with career development, locating & entering educational programs, developing parenting skills, and other topics as needed. Facilitates workshops when warranted. Intermittent travel required.
