The Director implements a program that carries out the mission of the CDC: to provide quality care for children at a reasonable price; to support the physical, social, intellectual and spiritual development of the children in its care; and to act as an outreach of the learning and caring ministries of FELC.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain compliance with standards and operating policies and procedures
Ensure comfortable, home-like environment for children
Provide personnel management
Handle enrollment and incoming payments
Maintain timely, accurate records and manage accounts
Provide for food management
Provide for facility management
Provide parent involvement and communication
Participate with and report to the Board of Directors
Maintain positive relationship with church staff and congregation
Keep abreast of child development trends and continuing education
Other duties as assigned
A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Human Development, Social Services Administration or a related field, from an accredited college or university. A Masters degree is preferred.
At least 2 years experience, 4 years preferred, with program management, supervisory or administrative experience in a facility providing care for children 18 months- 6 years of age. Preferred experience with 12 months and older.
Leadership and supervisory experience in developing and directing a team of professional staff, including mentoring of teachers
Experience in personnel management
Experience with budget management
Familiarity with DFPS licensing requirements
Familiarity with Texas Rising Star requirements
Familiarity with NAEYC recommendations
Committed to a developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum
Classroom experience with children 1-6 years of age
Must hold current First Aid certification at date of hire
