The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Associate Teacher. This position supports the Head Teacher in the planning and implementation of an early childhood program for a class of children. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the Head Teacher in maintaining the classroom, helping to assess children, and maintaining care, programming, and the safety for all children.
The Associate Teacher act as the Head Teacher in that teacher's absence by supervising staff and University students while being responsive to parent inquiries and needs. The Associate Teacher is required to maintain 24-hours of Professional Development during his/her employment and maintain all DPW regulations, NAEYC standards, and Keystone Stars requirements during his/her employment.

This position requires a minimum of an Associates Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. The incumbent will need 2-3 years' experience with 3-5 year olds, preferably in a center-based environment.
