The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Communications Manager who will function in a professional capacity while working for the PRIDE (Positive Racial Identity Development in Early Education) program to create and maintain a system for regular communication with the public, parents, educators, community organizations, and representatives, as well as other key stakeholders, about the program and the role of race in the early years of a child's development.
The incumbent will have general communications, graphic design, web and social media, and presentation responsibilities while managing a variety of functions for this $1.5 million-dollar program. Responsibilities include: developing and managing web-based and social media communications content; communicating with all program partners; implementing the program communications strategy; and presenting information sessions about the program to the public. The incumbent must be willing to work flexible hours for events on weekends or evenings.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position
Knowledge of the University Policies and Procedures preferred; photography skills and extensive computer experience (proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Photoshop, InDesign, and Outlook as well as HTML or WordPress for website development.) Experience using web-based software. Graphic design experience. Ability to create unique visual content using a variety of tools print and electronic. Able to work cooperatively and pleasantly with a variety of constituents. Excellent spelling, grammatical facility, creative sense of design, organizational skills, written and interpersonal skills. Continuing education in computer software (web based in particular) preferred.
