Punahou School is actively seeking a Testing Specialist to join the Admission team. In partnership with a team of faculty, staff, and administrators, the Testing Specialist supports the overall goals of school admission and student economic diversity, and serves as a member of the Admission Committee. The Testing Specialist a dministers, scores, and interprets psychological tests and assessments, primarily for kindergarten applicants. This individual is part of an energetic, dynamic and mission-driven team that plays a key role in the admission and enrollment of a diverse, highly qualified student body and in shaping first impressions and the ongoing experiences of families throughout the admission process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administers tests annually (from October to March) to kindergarten applicants for admission purposes.
Scores, interprets, assesses, and analyzes results of tests and assessments; prepares individual profiles and reports results to the Admission Directors and others as appropriate in a timely manner.
Conducts post-decision conferences with parents of student applicants regarding test results and group observation reports.
Serves as a member of the Admission Committee and participates in the admission process in the selection of kindergarten students.
Conducts research and performs special projects. Analyzes data and prepares reports at the request of the Director and/or Associate Director of Admission to help with the planning, assessment, and development of strategic admission issues.
Interprets tests and assessment instruments for/to/with administration and faculty.
Supports the overall goals for school admission and student economic diversity.

Master’s and/or doctoral degree in School Psychology, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Counselor Education, Community Counseling, or Psychometry.
Successful completion of two (2) psychological testing/assessment courses and related internship/practicum experience in testing and assessment.
Proficiency in administration, scoring, and interpretation of a wide variety of psychological and psychometric instruments
Must have a thorough understanding of child development
Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
Must be able to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
Administration of a broad range of assessments and sharing outcomes with teachers and parents
Demonstrated knowledge of current literature, trends, methods, developments, and ethics in the area of standardized testing.
Two (2) years of experience working with young children in the field of psychology.
