Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Advanced teachers to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on children's interests and needs. Apply knowledge about child development to child care setting and provide a model of behavior for children and students who are completing lab work for courses.
Assist Advanced teachers to convey information to families and researchers in an accurate and professional manner. Be able to write well and articulate children's interests and developmental level through the use of documentation panels.
Assist Advanced teachers to Record children's interests and build curriculum built upon children's ideas and wondering. Establish plans and measure children's development based on children's interests and strengths. Set naturalistic and holistic goals for children.
Assist Advanced teachers to Collect observations based upon children's developmental level. Organize data and present information in the form of documentations for parent-student, and professional populations.
Assist Advanced teachers to maintain a safe and secure environment for children at all times. Constantly scan the environment making sure that safety guidelines are consistent.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in early childhood education or early childhood special education with practicum/internship experience and related teacher certification (e.g., birth-kindergarten certification), or
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a related field and two years of experience teaching young children.
Experience in a university child development laboratory setting.
